Empathie en est une. D\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res minutes, j\u2019ai senti \u00eatre embarqu\u00e9 et j\u2019ai termin\u00e9 la saison avec le sentiment d\u2019avoir v\u00e9cu quelque chose d\u2019humain, de douloureux, mais aussi d\u2019assez lumineux. Une v\u00e9ritable claque, \u00e0 laquelle je ne m\u2019attendais pas.<\/p>\n<p>Cr\u00e9\u00e9e et interpr\u00e9t\u00e9e par Florence Longpr\u00e9, Empathie est une s\u00e9rie qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise \u00e0 la fois humaine, dr\u00f4le et poignante. Diffus\u00e9e au printemps 2025 au Canada, puis en France sur Canal+ \u00e0 partir du 1er septembre, elle a remport\u00e9 le Prix du public au festival S\u00e9ries Mania. Longpr\u00e9 y incarne Suzanne Bien-Aim\u00e9, psychiatre qui peine \u00e0 se remettre d\u2019un drame personnel. Elle rejoint l\u2019institut Mont-Royal, une structure qui accueille des patients en grande souffrance, parfois apr\u00e8s des actes criminels. \u00c0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s, Mortimer Vaillant, magnifiquement interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 par Thomas Ngijol, veille avec douceur et humour, formant avec elle un duo d\u2019une justesse rare.<\/p>\n<p>Ce qui frappe d\u2019abord, c\u2019est la sinc\u00e9rit\u00e9 du regard port\u00e9 sur la fragilit\u00e9 humaine. Empathie ne se contente pas de \u00ab montrer \u00bb un h\u00f4pital psychiatrique ou des crises : elle s\u2019attarde sur la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9, sur l\u2019humain parfois \u00ab cass\u00e9 \u00bb mais toujours debout. Elle porte bien son nom : rarement, une s\u00e9rie n\u2019aura suscit\u00e9 une telle compassion pour ses personnages. Chaque \u00eatre, qu\u2019il soit patient, m\u00e9decin ou proche, m\u00e9rite d\u2019\u00eatre entendu, soutenu, compris. Et le spectateur, lui aussi, est invit\u00e9 \u00e0 ressentir, \u00e0 d\u00e9passer ses jugements pour voir l\u2019humain derri\u00e8re chaque visage.<\/p>\n<p>Tous les personnages sont travaill\u00e9s avec tendresse et profondeur. Certains m\u2019ont boulevers\u00e9. La s\u00e9rie jongle avec finesse entre drame et l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9, entre ombre et lumi\u00e8re. Les dialogues sont souvent percutants, parfois dr\u00f4les, toujours justes. La bande sonore, subtile et inspir\u00e9e, accompagne parfaitement les \u00e9motions. Certaines s\u00e9quences flirtent m\u00eame avec le surr\u00e9alisme\u2026<\/p>\n<p>On pourrait reprocher \u00e0 la s\u00e9rie une certaine intensit\u00e9, un manque de l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 si l\u2019on cherche simplement \u00e0 se d\u00e9tendre. Mais c\u2019est aussi ce qui fait sa force : Empathie demande de s\u2019y investir \u00e9motionnellement, de se laisser atteindre. Et en retour, elle offre une exp\u00e9rience profond\u00e9ment humaine.<\/p>\n<p>Ce que j\u2019en retire, c\u2019est que Empathie est avant tout une \u0153uvre qui \u00e9coute. Elle \u00e9coute ses personnages, leurs douleurs, leurs espoirs. Elle nous rend attentifs \u00e0 ce que nous ressentons, et \u00e0 ce que nous pouvons ressentir pour les autres. C\u2019est une s\u00e9rie qui ne se contente pas de divertir : elle transforme. Si vous cherchez une \u0153uvre qui vous fera r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir, pleurer et sourire \u00e0 la fois, qui vous rappellera la beaut\u00e9 fragile de l\u2019humain, alors ne passez pas \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Et si je devais formuler un souhait : que la saison 2, d\u00e9j\u00e0 annonc\u00e9e, continue \u00e0 creuser cette mati\u00e8re humaine avec la m\u00eame sinc\u00e9rit\u00e9.
